I made this Cable Spool Garden Bench project using two cable reels measuring 1.4 meters & 1.6 meters for the seat & back portion. Also, I used a grinding disc equipped with a metal disc. This allowed me to remove a large layer of dirty wood much faster; it makes the wood very white.
Cable Spool Garden Bench – a unique addition to your garden, patio, terrace, outdoor living areas, or even poolside!
First, I took apart the two spools. I traced a design on one of the smaller round sides of the spools and cut it out with a jigsaw. I repeated the pattern on the second side and cut flat portions on both. Next, I used the larger spool and cut the seat bench and seat back out. I left the arch as a decorative touch for the seat back. Then I attached the spool bench together and attached the sides in place. I finished it with some cinder blocks underneath for added support. Add any cushions, pillows, or poufs for comfort, and then have a cool beverage and enjoy!
Editor’s note: Depending on the placement of the spools, you may want to cut off or remove the large bolts. Alternately, ensure they are facing to the outside of the bench to prevent any injuries.
Now all you need is a beautiful Outdoor Sofa Set, and you’re ready for a gathering!
