I made this Two-tone Pallet Display Shelf using two pallets and pine shelves for only 30 dollars! The bookcase looks magnificent left natural, but I added a dark stain to the shelves for contrast. This project can double as a bookshelf, but be sure to anchor it to the wall to protect the kids!

Build a Pallet Display Shelf and make it two-tone – or not!

First, I stripped down wood from two pallets. This pallet had great support pieces to go along with the deck boards. I removed all the nails, planed and ripped the pieces to common dimensions on a table saw. Next, I arranged the design I wanted based on grain patterns. Then I used biscuits and a lot of clamps to glue the sides together. I used Pine for the shelves and joined them to the sides with a dado groove, glue, and small nails. Finally, I used a darker stain on the shelves since and Tung oil on the sides. Upcycle those old pallets into beautiful furniture pieces!

This pallet display shelf is sturdy and attractive. I arranged the sides after cutting them to uniform widths. I mixed and matched wood tones and grains.

The various tones and grains show up well with the application of Tung oil.
The Pallet Display is still natural; I haven't stained the horizontal pieces yet.
