Simple, Attractive Planter Made From Pallets!

I found some old deck boards and used pallet board scraps as strapping and bracing. The grooved pattern on one side of the deck boards looks magnificent as the feature of this pallet planter project. Line it and fill with potting soil, or merely place potted plants directly into the box.

Here is how I made my simple planter:

Sand the deck boards and pallet boards with an angle grinder and 80 grit sanding disk.
Cut deck boards into 30 cm lengths. You need 16 lengths per box.
Cut four lengths of pallet board at 40 cm.
Cut four lengths of pallet board at 20 cm.
On a work table, lay six deck boards side-by-side, grooved face down. Then take two pallet boards, line them up at right angles to the deck boards ten from top and bottom. Screw or nail the pallet board to the deck boards, one screw per board. This makes a side.
Make ends with a similar method – 2 deck boards wide.
Now screw the sides and ends together to create a box,
Now use pallet boards to make the bottom. Either screw on the bottom to make a deeper planter, or use the strapping to fix a base for flower pots.
I finished mine with a teak wood dye mixed with danish oil. One part dye to 10 of oil.

Done, all you need to do is plant up
