I built a small Pallet Jewelry Box. I used two pallet deck boards and cut the wood into small pieces. I added an inlay to the top. I wanted the box to look similar to brickwork. I glued and nailed the small blocks together. To add structure, I used solid wood for the top and the bottom.
Add some pizzazz to your project with an inlay such as this Pallet Jewelry Box has.
I added an inlay to the top by using small blocks cut at 45-degree angles. Next, I cut out the shape in the lid. After construction, I burned the wood with a torch. I finished the project with a light sanding and then sealed with varnish. The burning did make a difference. It helps that I no longer needed any stain to get my desired effect. One word of warning: pallet wood burns quickly so take your time and work slow.
