First, I found a pallet that was in good shape. I cut the pallet apart at each of the blocks. Next, I cut pieces of deck boards to use for the cross-bracing and installed them with screws from the top. I removed the blocks and sanded everything well. Then I stained the pieces on all sides. Finally, I purchased off-the-shelf (or upcycled) angled brackets, painted them to match my walls and installed them with screws. Painting the brackets makes the project look like the shelves are floating!
