10 pallets and one old fence. Two rooms, a loft, and seasons of imagination! Built spontaneously with only a mental plan.
I spent a few weeks looking over pallet treehouse designs to find what would work best for my children in my yard. It’s actually how I found 1001pallets. With no carpentry or building experience, I felt safest staying on the ground but try for something two-story. I'm considering this a treehouse since it’s supported by/anchored between two trees.
Here are my supplies:
- Ten wood pallets
- An old fence (it blew down in the wind)
- One 2x4
- Carpentry screws
- Metal brackets
- One 6-inch lag bolt w/ washer (to fasten one side to the larger tree)
- Cement blocks and yard rocks (for support and decoration)
- Reciprocating saw = MVP
All of this was trial by error. Lots of fun. The most imports thing for me was safety, and it would have been so wobbly without anchoring the sides to these trees.
Check out pictures of the process. My son named it the “Dream Box” after stage one (single cube). Will you make your own dream box too? Share your pictures with me!
