Blended-media Pallet Coffee Table

I made this Blended-Media Pallet Coffee Table using pallet wood and purchased table legs from a large furniture chain. This was my first attempt using reclaimed pallet wood to make a coffee table on IKEA shelf brackets (as legs).

Don’t be afraid to mix new and old, like this Blended-Media Pallet Coffee Table to create a modern and unique home decor look.

First, I broke down a single pallet. Next, I sanded the boards to remove splinters and rough edges. Then, I began applying a clear coat, using a selection of fine sandpapers between coats to protect that rustic finish. The wood has loads of character; a real bonus when creating something that is to take place in your living room as a focal point. Care was taken in the process to make sure as much of the wood patina was salvaged as possible, which shows through beautifully with the layers of clear coat. I used four deck boards to create a frame that I attached to the Ikea shelf brackets to create a mid-century modern look. The measurements of this table are 19″ wide x 38″ long x 18.5″ tall.

Combine store-bought table legs or brackets to create a modern feel on a shoestring budget. This table would be gorgeous in your living room or your outdoor living spaces! An excellent DIY Pallet Project for sure!
